South Park

Project Overview

We’re making improvements on the Duwamish Trail and nearby streets in South Park to make it safer and more comfortable for people to walk, bike, and roll in the neighborhood.

We’re working with students at Concord International Elementary School to design pavement art. The artwork will be installed along the walking route between the school and the South Park Branch Public Library. These upgrades were requested by community during a “walkshop” in June 2025.

This project is being built as part of the Neighborhood Projects Program, which works with the highest need communities to design and build safety improvements. We expect construction to begin in late 2026.

Project elements include:

  • New student-designed pavement art on the Duwamish Trail, S Henderson St, and 8th Ave S.
  • Improvements on S Henderson St between 10th Ave S and 12th Ave S.
