Project Overview
This project is part of Seattle's Vision Zero program. With this program, we aim to end traffic deaths and serious injuries.
This project aims to improve safety for all travelers on Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Wildwood Pl, including those walking, rolling, biking, taking the bus, and driving.
For this project, the community has let us know their concerns for safety. To give peopel biking and driving separation, we are evaluating two options:
Option 1:
- A protected bike lane for uphill/southbound bikes
- A street lane bikes and cars share in the northbound direction
Option 2:
- Two protected bike lanes on either side of SW Wildwood Pl for uphill and downhill (i.e., northbound and southbound) bikes
Timeline/Schedule
We've already removed parking along Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Wildwood Pl between Fauntleroy Way SW and 46th Ave SW.
Before the end of 2026, we plan to:
- Install a Protected Bike Lane
- Relocate Load Zones at 45th Ave SW and SW Wildwood Pl
- Relocate Passenger Drop Off locations south of the Ferry Terminal
