Project Overview
In spring 2018, crews completed improvements for the Wing Luke & Van Asselt Safe Routes to School (SRTS) project, making it safer and easier for kids, families, and neighbors to walk and bike to Wing Luke and Van Asselt Elementary Schools along S Cloverdale St and 37th Ave S.
This project was part of Seattle's Vision Zero program to end traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030.
The project included the following improvements:
- New sidewalks and curb ramps on the north side of S Cloverdale St between Beacon Ave S and Martin Luther King Jr Way S
- New sidewalks and curb ramps on the east side of 37th Ave S between S Cloverdale St and S Thistle St
- New curbs, gutters, and planting strips with trees
- On-street parking maintained in most locations
Schedule
Crews began construction in November 2017 and crews completed work in April 2018.
