South Delridge

Project Overview

We’re making improvements in South Delridge to make it safer and more comfortable for people to walk, bike, and roll in the neighborhood. This project is being built as part of the Neighborhood-Initiated Safety Partnership Program, which works with the highest need communities to design and build safety improvements.

These upgrades were requested by community during a “walkshop” in April 2025. The project also includes safety improvements that were requested to support safer crossings for students at Chief Sealth High School and Denny Middle School.

We expect construction to begin in late 2026.

Project elements include:

  • New crosswalks on SW Thistle St at 25th Ave SW and 27th Ave SW
  • New speed cushion on SW Thistle St between 22nd Ave SW and 24th Ave SW
  • Intersection “daylighting” and painted bulbs, which makes it easier for everyone to see each other at intersections. To learn more, click here.
