Neighborhood-Initiated Safety Partnership Program

Safer streets together!

Updated: February, 2026

The Neighborhood-Initiated Safety Partnership Program is a new effort funded by the 2024 Transportation Levy. From now through 2032, we’ll deliver safety projects across Seattle shaped by community input, with a focus on neighborhoods with the greatest needs.

Current Projects

In 2026 and 2027, we are building projects in neighborhoods based on equity, safety, and where sidewalks are missing.

To gather initial project ideas, we looked at what we’ve already heard from the community through the Seattle Transportation Plan, Home Zones, Safe Routes to School, and other outreach efforts. We also partnered with our Sidewalk Development Program and community organizations to host community walking tours and see existing issues first-hand. In each neighborhood, we selected the top community priorities that could be built within one to two years. These safety improvements will connect to new sidewalks, schools, parks, and bus stops.

Stay tuned for updates as we gather future project ideas. We look forward to working with you to build safety improvements across Seattle.
