High Point Healthy Street
Updated August 22, 2023
What's Happening Now?
The High Point Healthy street will be made permanent as soon as 2024! This means replacing the temporary signs with permanent signs supported by either concrete sign bases or planters.
Thank you to all who have participated in our latest evaluation process for Healthy Streets! Over this past year, we have been conducting outreach and an evaluation based on community use trends and public feedback to determine if a Healthy Street should become permanent or revert back to a neighborhood greenway, like it was before the pandemic.
Permanent Healthy Streets are eligible for Healthy Street Planters at intersections, as seen in the image below. Learn more about Healthy Streets Planters.
Below is an image of permanent Healthy Street signage that you can expect to see in 2024 to replace the current temporary signs onsite now.

As announced earlier this year, 34th Ave SW will become a permanent Healthy Street and the other streets will return to neighborhood greenway.
About this project
We introduced Healthy Streets during the pandemic in 2020 as a way for Seattleites to get outside safely and stay active in local neighborhoods throughout the city. Healthy Streets are open for people walking, rolling, biking, and playing, and closed to pass-through traffic.
Schedule
May 2020: High Point Stay Healthy Street installed.
Through summer 2022:
- Observation and evaluation of High Point Stay Healthy Street.
- Hear from people who live on or near the Stay Healthy Street or use it for walking, rolling, biking, and playing.
- Understand what the community wants the street to look like in the future.
Fall 2022: Share with the community options for the permanent route of the High Point Healthy Street.
Summer 2023: Announce the permanent route of the High Point Healthy Street
Mural Project - Art in High Point!
The salmon art that High Point community members created has were installed on High Point streets SW Graham St and 31st Ave SW in March 2023. Thank you, High Point community, for your involvement in this project.
Each salmon is about 6 feet long and they “leap” along SW Graham St and 31st Ave SW. The salmon are in the middle of the street, so people can still drive on them and they won’t be covered by parked vehicles.
