Othello and Rainier Beach Healthy Street

What's Happening Now?

We are excited to announce that the Othello and Rainier Beach Healthy Streets will be made permanent as soon as 2024! This means replacing the temporary signs with permanent signs supported by either concrete sign bases or planters. 

Thank you to all who have participated in our latest evaluation process for Healthy Streets! Over this past year, we have been conducting outreach and an evaluation based on community use trends and public feedback to determine if a Healthy Street should become permanent or revert back to a neighborhood greenway, like it was before the pandemic. 

Permanent Healthy Streets are eligible for Healthy Street Planters at intersections, as seen in the image below. Learn more about Healthy Streets Planters.

Below is an image of permanent Healthy Street signage that you can expect to see in 2024 to replace the current temporary signs onsite now.
