Park Use Permits

Public Events in Seattle Parks

A Park Use Permit is the most customizable permit for public events, available for events of a wide range of sizes, at nearly any location.

Common examples of Park Use Permits include ethnic and cultural events, staged performances in our amphitheaters, protests and rallies, and athletic events taking place on trails and waterways.

Applicants for private events are encouraged to apply for different permits :

See Ceremonies for weddings and memorials.
See Picnics for reservations at tables and shelters.

Please note, we do not allow in-office visits.

A permit is required to reserve a park space, facility, stage, performing arts area or playfields for public gatherings.  These "Park Use Permits" allow us to prevent conflicts and make necessary preparations, such as for power, alcohol consumption, trash pick-up, vehicle access, etc.
