Lower Woodland Playfield #1

Lower Woodland PF #1, also known as the Seattle Mariners All-Star Legacy Field, has completed the design phase. The scope of work includes in-field turf replacement of the aging turf, as well as installing new turf in the bullpens. D.A. Hogan is the design consultant on this project, and Construction is expected to begin in December 2025, with completion in February 2026. 

The entire field will be closed during construction. Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact on the roadways and neighborhood. SPR continues to deliver a safe, durable, and playable athletic facility and experience for users.

Seattle Parks and Recreation allocates a budget of $690,000 for this project.

Construction: December 2025 - February 2026

Project Description

This project will replace the aging synthetic turf at Lower Woodland Playfield #1. It includes removing the old ‘worn out’ synthetic turf installed in 2013 and will address any structural repairs to curbing and sub-surface. The replacement product system will include new synthetic turf surfacing over a supplemental resilient pad, granular cork, and sand infill.

The entire field will be closed during construction.
