Updated: September 19, 2025
Fall 2025
The project is currently in the final stages of the design phase, and we are working with D.A. Hogan. Construction is expected to begin in late fall 2025. The scope includes in-field turf replacement to restore and enhance the field, also known as the Mariners All-Star Legacy Field.
The entire field will be closed during construction. Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact on the roadways and neighborhood. SPR continues to deliver a safe, durable and playable athletic facility and experience for users.

This project will replace the aging synthetic turf at Lower Woodland Playfield #1. It includes removing the old ‘worn out’ synthetic turf installed in 2013 and will address any structural repairs to curbing and sub-surface. The replacement product system will include new synthetic turf surfacing over a supplemental resilient pad, granular cork, and sand infill.
The entire field will be closed during construction.
