Meridian Playground Play Area Improvements

This project aims to make site improvements to a play area located within the western portion of the former Home of Good Shepherd property. Most components of the play area were constructed in the early 1980s, revised in 2002, and some equipment was replaced through a Neighborhood Matching Fund project in 2011. Several elements/features within the play area such as existing play equipment, art paving, play area ramps, custom made slides and rubber tiles need to be renovated or replaced.

$1,155,000 in funding is provided by the Real Estate Excise Tax (REET)

Public engagement and design process: Early 2023
Design and Permitting: Late 2023 - 2024
Construction: Late 2024 - late 2025

Project Description

This play area project will replace the play equipment, making accessibility improvements for route from the main parking area and in the comfort station in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
