Licton Springs Public Restroom
Updated: October 15, 2025
Fall 2025
The Licton Springs Restroom Project is progressing with an in-house design team of Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) Senior Architects and Landscape Architects. This team has taken over the remaining design work, including the associated site design.
Steady progress is being made on the project, with continued development of permit and construction documents. The team has received initial comments from the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) and is on track to complete 90% of the design and permit revisions by the end of January.
We are also collaborating with the Office of Arts and Culture and artist Diane Bocking-Byrd (Snoqualmie), whose artwork will be featured at the new facility. We are excited to include her artworks at this facility.

Project Description
In 2021, the Licton Springs Park restroom building was burned down by arson. No elements of the previous structure were salvageable. This project will provide a new replacement restroom building. The building will include two all gender restroom stalls, one community storage space, one plumbing/utility chase, and
artwork in coordination with the Office of Arts and Culture. The new building will meet SPR design and engineering standards, as well as comply with current applicable building codes. To achieve compliance, some additional site work is also required to provide an accessible route from the sidewalk right-of-way (ROW) to the new structure.
