West Magnolia Playfield - Play Area Renovation

Updated: June 29, 2026

Seattle Parks and Recreation will renovate the West Magnolia Playfield play area to meet modern safety and accessibility standards. The existing equipment has reached its 20-year life cycle and will be replaced with new, age-appropriate play structures (ages 2–12), new safety surfacing, and site furnishings. Existing community art, including the Karen’s Place blocks, will remain safely in place.

This project will also install a new accessible ramp and sidewalk system connecting the community center to the play area, tennis courts, and future skate dot. Construction will include surrounding lawn restoration and protective care for existing park trees. We appreciate your patience as we complete these exciting new play area improvements.
