<h2>Admissions</h2> <p>Seattle Conservation Corps (SCC) is a <strong>12-month paid job training program </strong>for homeless adults age 18 and older. Participants train and work in a structured program, gain job skills, finish education and certifications, and complete projects that benefit the larger Seattle community. Participants receive case management, academic and job search that includes housing upgrades, GED attainment, and job search assistance to find permanent employment.</p> <p>Admission to the Corps happens on a rolling basis throughout the year. A new cohort of 5 or more Corps members starts when space is available due to attrition or work need.</p> <h2>Expectations, Compensation, and Support</h2> <p>Each Corps member signs an Individual Service Strategy Agreement to enhance work maturity skills and to address personal and professional goals.  Corps members join crews of about 5 members overseen by an experienced Crew Lead. Crews work 5 days a week, 7:30am-4pm, Monday-Friday.</p> <p>If approved by case management, participants are compensated for time to attend personal appointments, such as drug court hearings, counseling, time with learning center instructor, or other necessary engagements.</p> <h3>Compensation</h3> <p>Corps members start at the <a href="https://www.seattle.gov/laborstandards/ordinances/minimum-wage">City of Seattle minimum wage</a>, which is $21.30 as of January 1, 2026, then receive step increases depending on their hours of participation.</p> <p>Corps Lead members can extend their program participation beyond the initial 12 months.</p> <p>Corps members are classified as Temp employees. Corps members accrue Sick Leave, but not Vacation or Holiday pay; and do not receive fringe benefits.</p> <h3>Personalized Case Management</h3> <p>Each participant receives a case manager who works with the participants on their goals of how they would like to become more self-sufficient.  Goals can include getting a driver’s license, paying child support, maintaining sobriety, re-uniting parents with children, maintaining compliance with the criminal justice system, finding housing, combating identity theft, cleaning credit history, working with other organizations, medication management, mental health referrals, advocacy within the program parameters, money management,  communicating with landlords,  etc. </p> <h3>Education</h3> <p>Corps members study during paid work hours at the Conservation Corps Learning Center at <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/place/Seattle+Conservation+Corps/@47.6858484,-122.2640222,18z/data=!3m1!5s0x549013a15f207d75:0x5e4a40f8b48ece3a!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x549013a3ec2010a9:0x425aa1e04367892!2s7727+63rd+Ave+NE,+Seattle,+WA+98115!3b1!8m2!3d47.686038!4d-122.2632283!16s%2Fg%2F11c0z76p5f!3m5!1s0x549013a1429c3567:0xe93bd717e1f36c97!8m2!3d47.686036!4d-122.262189!16s%2Fg%2F1tmqfxv0?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDEwNC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D" target="_blank" rel="noopener">7727 63rd Ave NE, Suite 201, Seattle, WA 98115</a> (inside <a href="/parks/parks/magnuson-park" style="font-size: 12pt; text-decoration-line: underline; color: #006699;">Magnuson Park</a>, Building #2)<span style="font-size: 12pt;">.
