Mayfair Park Retaining Wall and Stair Replacement

Winter 2025

We have awarded the contract to W.S. Contractors! The contractor has secured the site and begun with selective demolition as of October 16, 2025.

Work has begun with the removal of the old timber wall and a few trees that were required to be removed to make the retaining wall replacement possible.

The Seattle Parks District provides $1,100,000 in funding for the planning, design, and construction.

Planning and Design: Complete
Permitting: Early 2025 - Fall 2025
Construction: October 2025 - Early 2026

Project Description 

The project will replace the existing timber retaining walls, wood stairs, and wooden light poles/standards that have all reached the end of their usefulness. The project requires some paving repair and removal of a few trees that are either hazardous or need to be removed to accommodate the wall replacement.
