Project Description

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) has identified the need to renovate the clubhouse restrooms at West Seattle Golf Course (WSGC). The existing restrooms are original to the building (1961) and are undersized for current user needs and do not meet accessibility requirements. Aside from the restrooms, neither the parking nor the entrance to the clubhouse is compliant with accessibility standards. The outdated condition, inefficient layout, and lack of accessibility to the facility reduce programming, events, and user needs.

The proposed scope of work aims to renovate the parking stalls, entrance ramps, ingress/egress doors, and restrooms to create an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable facility at WSGC that better serves the community, including thousands of annual golf patrons and banquet hall attendees. The restrooms will be redesigned to accommodate all genders, consistent with the best practices outlined in the 2016 Seattle Parks and Recreation All Gender Restrooms / Changing Room Study. The facilities will also incorporate sustainable building practices and environmentally responsible materials. These renovations aim not only to meet current accessibility codes but to anticipate future needs, ensuring longevity and adaptability.
