Summer Employment Opportunities

We're getting ready for a great summer at Seattle Parks and Recreation, but we can't do it without our seasonal staff! We need motivated, enthusiastic workers for a variety of positions this summer. Help welcome community members back to a world fun and activity after a difficult year while enjoying yourself and getting paid for it. Work on the shores of the City's most popular locations - boat ramps along our beautiful parks and waterways. If you are looking for a fast-paced position spending the day at a park and helping boaters recreate, look no further! We need Boat Ramp Rangers May to September so put on your superhero cape and come join our team!

Career Lab is a 40-hour virtual learning job readiness program designed to help trainees become career-ready by developing their professional and "soft skills." The program helps master key employability skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and time management. You will become part of a learning community and begin to develop competencies needed for long-term success in the 21st century job market.

Day Camp is available throughout the summer for youth 5 to 12 years of age. Camp activities include sports, games, arts and crafts, field trips, swimming, and weekly special events. Programs typically run from June to August, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. but may vary at different locations. This position is responsible for implementing the summer camp program by actively engaging with camp participants each day. They may lead and organize programs and activities such as arts, crafts, organized games, cultural activities, drama, music, story hour, sports activities, field trips and other special events. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of and experience working with school age youth. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Our Substitute position helps employees gain experience with working in our programs and is a great opportunity for individuals with a flexible schedule or other obligations.

Are you over the age of 18 with a valid driver's license and love Seattle's beautiful parks?  If you are looking for ways to help communities by providing friendly and safe recreational opportunities, apply to be a rover today. Our rovers track park usage data to support community wellness education and compliance with public health guidelines. We are looking for customer service-oriented problem solvers with logistics or event management experience. We are hiring up to 12 Park Ambassador Rovers to work May to September.
