Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Arboretum Foundation temporarily closed the Seattle Japanese Garden this summer to complete a major restoration project. Most of the Garden reopened on July 28, 2026.
- North Section Closure: Through November 2026 during wall construction and landscape restoration
- Regular Seasonal Closure: December through February for winter maintenance
About
Located within the Washington Park Arboretum, this is a 3 1/2 acre formal garden designed and constructed under the supervision of world-renowned Japanese garden designer Juki Iida in 1960. Visit the Japanese Garden website for a complete list of hours, admissions, and more.
