Visitor Center closed, no beach parking permits
Discovery Park Visitor Center is closed until Summer 2027. The rest of Discovery Park is open as usual.
We are unable to issue beach parking permits while the Visitor Center is closed. Parking at the beach level without a permit or ADA placard is not allowed and may result in citation or towing.
On Saturdays, ride the free shuttle between parking lots to the beach. June 20 to Sept. 5 only
Parking and Beach Shuttles
2026 Summer Shuttle Bus
Discovery Park is operating a free shuttle bus Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until September 5, 2026. It loops between the Visitor Center/East parking lot, the Daybreak Star Center, the North parking lot, and the Beach parking lot, arriving at each location every 45 minutes.
The shuttle runs 11 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; last one leaves the beach at 5:15 pm. Plan accordingly!
Here's an approximate schedule.
- What is allowed on the shuttle? People, including children and babies, service animals, and strollers
- What is NOT allowed on the shuttle? Pets, coolers, surf/paddleboards, and other bulky items
