Hing Hay Park Renovation

Updated: July 12, 2024

Hing Hay Park Restroom

Given the time elapsed between prior in-house design review cycles and resuming project revisions in 2023, the design consultant achieved 90% design in the February 2024 stage and will continue to bring the design up to 100% and secure necessary building permits.

As a public benefit to the newly expanded Hing Hay Park, the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) is providing a space inside the Bush Hotel for a public restroom and concierge station. Seattle Parks and Recreation is moving forward with the planning and design of the project, which includes renovating existing interior and exterior space in the Bush Hotel. The SPR facility will be located in the northeast area of the park in the basement of the Bush Hotel. The space will first be renovated to become “Tenant-ready” (Phase I), after that tenant improvement work (Phase II) will begin.

The SPR standard restroom will be open to the public when a concierge is present at the park.

Thank you to everyone who came to learn about the new restroom and talked with us during Dragon Fest on June 29, 2019.
