Application Due Dates

Completed applications must be received by November 1 of a given year to be considered for credit in the subsequent year (i.e., applications must be received by November 1, 2020 for a credit to be applied to the 2021 drainage bill).

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will notify applicants of the application status by letter, telephone, or email. Please be advised that your stormwater facilities must be properly maintained and functioning to be eligible for the credit program. See Section 21.33.040 of the Seattle Municipal Code and maintenance inspections for further information.

Credit Criteria

SPU determines the eligibility of each application based on a number of factors, such as the type of stormwater system, the appropriate drainage discharge point for that parcel, percentage of the parcel's impervious surface managed by the system, and the parcel's drainage rate category assignment.

If you have stormwater systems that are required by code and SPU inspection finds them to be non-functioning, they must be repaired at your expense, pursuant to SMC 22.807.090.
