As a waste and water utility, there are three things we want residents, businesses, and visitors to know:
Let’s Play...Without Waste
Recycling, composting, and chosing reusables are simple ways to support our city and protect the environment. It is a team effort! We’re asking restaurants, bars, residents, and visitors to all do their part. Hosting a Watch Party? Make it zero waste!

Reduce waste – make game days better for everyone
SPU is collaborating with the Port of Seattle and partners on a region-wide waste reduction messaging campaign to help visitors use less, recycle, compost, and properly dispose of waste across major hubs and event locations throughout Seattle and Puget Sound.

Our tap water is better than bottled
Seattle’s tap water is clean, fresh and sustainable. It comes from protected forested mountain watersheds that are carefully managed to ensure high quality. Reduce waste and use a refillable water bottle.

- Use a water refill station:
Remember: Lumen Field has rules about outside food and beverage (including water bottles)!

Help us find it and fix it

Help us fix issues quickly! We are increasing our services on cleanup routes during and after matches, with added attention to areas surrounding stadiums and other high-traffic locations.
Please use the Find It, Fix It app to report anything we may miss- overflowing garbage cans, illegal dumping, needles, clogged drains, and other issues. You can also use the City’s webform to request services or call us Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at (206) 684-CITY.
