Master Composter / Sustainability Steward Volunteer Program
The Master Composter/Sustainability Steward (MC/SS) volunteer program is a key effort in Seattle’s waste reduction and recycling efforts; it is a collaborative program between Seattle Public Utilities and Tilth Alliance.
Open to all Seattle residents, MC/SS volunteers learn how to:
- Help their community reduce, reuse, and recycle
- Build worm bins
- Recycle food and yard waste at their homes or community gardens
- Build healthy urban soils
- Support thriving landscapes throughout the city
In exchange for this training, MC/SS volunteers provide outreach and education about what they learned to fellow residents.
