Sound Steps Program (50+ Outdoor Recreation)

The purpose of the Sound Steps Walking Program is to increase physical activity and social connection by working with people age 50 + in a member-directed community walking program that is accessible and welcoming to all.

Are you:

50 years or better?
Ready to get active?
Wanting a free, supported walking program?

Then Sound Steps is for you!

Sound Steps is a volunteer-supported walking program within Seattle Parks and Recreation's Lifelong Recreation Program. Sound Steps is designed to get adults age 50+ moving and gaining the health benefits of regular exercise.

Participants in this FREE year-round program are connected to other walkers on their level and given tools to measure progress. Encouragement comes from the support of volunteer walk leaders and regular check-ins.

Sound Steps offers weekly walking groups from a variety of locations, monthly hikes, and more. See brochure information at right, or search the online registration system for current offerings.

Volunteers are needed for the Sound Steps program! If you would like to help lead walks, keep track of walker data, promote the program or motivate others, please contact us.
