Lincoln Park Tennis Court Conversion

Updated: December 4, 2023

Fall 2023

Watch the November 27, 2023 virtual West Seattle Park Project Updates meeting:

The 2021-22 Outdoor Pickleball Study outlined three possible approaches to meet the growing demand for outdoor pickleball in Seattle: dual striping (immediate opportunity), converting existing tennis courts to pickleball only (mid-term), and constructing a new dedicated pickleball facility (long-term).

Lincoln Park was considered as a potential location for dedicated courts in the 2021-2022 Outdoor Pickleball Plan. It was not included as one of the top candidates primarily due to size. For that study we were largely looking at locations that would be a larger lit complex of 8 or more courts. We also considered Lincoln Park as a possible pickleball location when doing engagement for removal of the tennis courts at Lowman Beach.

The main criteria used in selecting this court is that it does not conflict with tennis – in that the court has been unused and mainly used for storage – it meets geographic distribution, residential remoteness, and accessibility criteria.

This project will convert an unused tennis court into pickleball courts. The courts will be striped for 6 courts.

Please see below for the location of the pickleball court.
