Updated: April 14, 2022
Spring 2022
Seattle Parks and Recreation awarded the construction contract to Ohno Construction. They mobilized on site in late 2021 and we anticipate the new park will open in early summer 2022.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the mural project on February 9, 2020 and joined in the opportunity for learning about the construction for the new Lake City park.
The mural project received funding from the 1% for the Arts program. The artist is Elizabeth Gahan.
Thank you to everyone who attended the September 29, 2016 public meeting and provided input for the future of your neighborhood park space. You will find information from the meeting below.

Budget
This Seattle Park District project will create a new neighborhood park. It was funded to provide the community access to open space within this high-density urban neighborhood.
The 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy provided $24 million for the acquisition of neighborhood parks in up to 20 identified areas throughout the City. The Lake City Residential Urban Village was included in that list.
Seattle Ordinance 123391 relating to the purchase of the property at 12510 33rd Ave NE was signed by Mayor Mike McGinn on September 23, 2010. The property had an office building on it, which was demolished in early 2016.
