Domestic Worker Employer Paid Sick and Safe Time Education Partnership

In 2024, the Office of Labor Standards received $60,000 for outreach and education to domestic workers and employers who are covered by the Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) Ordinance and who may not be aware of existing requirements to provide domestic workers hired as employees with paid leave benefits.

Through a competitive selection process with the help of an evaluation committee, the Office of Labor Standards identified an organization to do this work and contracted out these funds to this organization.

The Office of Labor Standards selected Hand In Hand: The Domestic Employers Network for this campaign.

Hand In Hand’s mission is to build a just and caring economy starting in homes and communities by supporting employers of nannies, house cleaners, and home care workers to make their homes fair workplaces. For their work on this contract, Hand In Hand will be connecting directly with households and businesses that employ domestic workers to provide assistance in making sure that domestic workers get the Paid Sick and Safe Time due to them.
