This Make-Ready incentive is currently on hold as we reevaluate program details and explore the potential impact of Washington’s new Clean Fuel Standard. We are not accepting new applications at this time. We will be relaunching the incentive later this year. For updates, join our email list.

Make-ready infrastructure incentives provide additional financial assistance to fleets within vulnerable underrepresented communities for behind-the-meter and to-the-meter make-ready infrastructure. Limited funding is available.

Organizations must be located within a historically underrepresented community, be a commercial City Light customer, and have at least one vehicle in their vehicle fleet. Fleets that operate primarily in vulnerable communities or are small businesses, minority-owned businesses, public entities, non-profit entities, or Tribal entities may also be eligible. Fortune 1000 companies are not eligible. Additional requirements may apply. For more information on historically underrepresented communities or eligibility requirements, please contact eFleets@seattle.gov.

Level 2 Charger

  • Minimum Output 6.6 kW
  • Total funding cap per site - City Light will fund up to 100% of costs of behind-the-meter make-ready infrastructure and to-the-meter make-ready infrastructure up to $200,000 per customer

DCFC Charger

  • Minimum Output 50 kW
  • Total funding cap per site - City Light will fund up to 100% of costs of behind-the-meter make-ready infrastructure and to-the-meter make-ready infrastructure up to $200,000 per customer
*Funding from all charging infrastructure incentive pathways will not exceed 100% of total customer project costs; this includes projects in which a combination of Make-Ready Incentive and On- or Non-Road Incentive pathways are applied. City Light will not provide funding that contributes to the customer more than the total cost of the project when also considering funding received from other sources. Incentive caps are subject to change per City Light discretion and availability of program funds. Project applications which exceed the customer cap will be considered on an individual basis.
Electric rail yard equipment includes rail yard switchers and rail car movers.
Covers any utility-owned infrastructure and equipment that provides electric services, extensions, or upgrades needed to support the installation of EV infrastructure in excess of standard new business allowances and any customer-owned equipment from the point of interconnection up to (but not including) the charging equipment.
