In September 2025, the Seattle City Council approved Seattle City Light's 2026 - 2029 Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP). Required every four years under the Clean Energy Transformation Act, the CEIP outlines our progress towards meeting Washington's goal of delivering 100% renewable and non-emitting electricity by 2045.

The plan details how we’ll continue to meet energy targets while keeping equity and community at the heart of our work. Developed through months of engagement with customers, it reflects what we heard most clearly: a focus on reducing energy burden, increasing community health outcomes, and equitable access to utility programs and green job opportunities.

City Light will submit the approved CEIP to the Washington State Department of Commerce by January 1, 2026, marking another important step toward a clean, equitable energy future for Seattle.
