What's Happening Now?

Project Update (Dec. 2020): Crews completed this project in late Dec. 2020.

Community Benefits

  • The repaired underground streetlight system will result in fewer streetlight outages and better streetlight distribution throughout the length of the work area.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Crews will trench and install underground electrical infrastructure for the new streetlight system. This will require an underground street crossing on Lake Park Drive South.
  • All affected planting strips within the right-of-way will be restored.
  • Traffic may be impacted during this work. Traffic control flaggers will redirect traffic through the work zone as needed. Expect temporary road closures during construction.
  • Some sidewalks and parking will be restricted within the construction work area for truck staging and equipment storage.
  • Maintenance power outages are not anticipated for this work.
  • Existing streetlights will be replaced with new LED fixtures and poles.

  • Construction Start: Early May 2020
  • Duration: 3-4 months
  • Daily Work Schedule: Mon-Fri: 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
