Project Description

Seattle City Light crews will be working on Thomas Street (between 8th and 9th avenues north) to install an underground duct bank and electrical vault. The work will improve electrical reliability for the South Lake Union area.

Construction will occur on Thomas Street (between 8th and 9th avenues north) in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood

Community Benefits

  • The infrastructure upgrades will improve electrical reliability for the South Lake Union area.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Traffic control flaggers will be used as needed to direct pedestrians and vehicles through the work areas.
  • Crews will be staging and storing equipment on-site.
  • Crews will direct access through the alley between 8th and 9th avenues north.
  • Some noise is expected during construction.
  • Trenches will be covered with steel plates outside of construction work hours.

  • Start Date: Early April 2021
  • Daily Work Hours: Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Weekends from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
