Our programs

To create an inclusive and accommodating city for residents of all economic backgrounds, HSD offers services and funds programs that help to ensure all people living in Seattle are able to meet their basic needs. The continued pressure to meet the rising costs of living in Seattle impact many residents’ ability to afford housing, transportation, utilities, childcare, and food. Some of the ways the City is able to address the rising cost of living in Seattle are by providing discounted utilities through the Utility Discount Program, increasing access to culturally appropriate meals and food, and supporting affordable childcare programs.
