Description:
This Chinese dogwood’s beautiful pink flowers are a magnet for pollinators in late spring. In late summer these flowers become a berry-like fruit which is enjoyed by birds. The lush green leaves turn to glorious shades of red and orange in the fall.

Works well in smaller, partly shaded planting strips or in a shaded yard space.

Leaves:
Dark green foliage turns shades of red in the fall.

Red berries.

Preferred Site Conditions:
Part sun to light shade. DO NOT plant in full sun. Morning sun and afternoon shade. Prefers acidic, moist, but well drained soil.

Potential Problems:
This cultivar is resistant to dogwood anthracnose. It will not tolerate too much full sun or alkaline soil conditions.

  • 15 feet from house or building
  • 3 ½ feet back from the face of the curb
  • 5 feet from underground utility lines
  • 10 feet from power poles
  • 7 ½ feet from driveways (10 feet recommended)
