Sprayparks & Wading Pools

Sprayparks

Open daily, May 25 to September 2, 2024

A number of Seattle parks have water spray features where you and the kiddos can cool off. We will operate 11 sprayparks this summer, beginning Saturday, May 25 until Labor Day.

Sprayparks are self-operating, with most on a timer. They are occasionally "quiet" for a few minutes to re-set themselves. Their operation is subject to change (due to weather or damage to the facilities). Follow the SPR Wading Pool Facebook page for daily updates.

These sprayparks will be open from 11 am to 8 pm each day of the week:

*Spraypark and wading pool schedules are subject to change (due to weather or damage to the facilities).

Wading Pools

Season begins June 22, 2024. Check back in June for schedules.  Schedules and days of week will vary by location.

Wading pools are open with an attendant in season on sunny days when the temperature is forecast to be 70 degrees or above. In summer, please call the Wading Pool Hotline to verify hours and open/closed status the day of your visit: (206) 684-7796, or check the Wading Pool Facebook page for daily updates in summer.

Wading Pools Save Water!

As an element of the City's water conservation effort, we're encouraging people to use public wading pools and sprayparks rather than fill their home "kiddy pools" or run backyard sprinklers.

Hours, Weather, and Closures

We will plan to open the wading pools on sunny days when the temperature is forecast to be 70 degrees or higher. On most days we will fill them half full, which is a 50% water savings but on the busiest days they will be filled to the top!

Parks uses the average of temperature forecasts from eight weather websites to determine whether to close. When that average temperature is forecast to be below 70 degrees, Parks makes the decision not to open the wading pools or sprayparks.

Our wading pool hotline, (206) 684-7796, is updated every morning by 9:30 a.m. If the weather looks iffy, it’s the best way to find out if the wading pools and sprayparks are open for the day or not.

Rules

  • Children under 13 years old must be supervised by a responsible adult.
  • No "Bare Buns" - bathing suit attire required, babies must wear tight plastic pants or diapers designed for swimming.
  • No food or drink; no glass containers.
  • No spots - people with communicable diseases are not allowed in the pool.
  • No fidos (dogs, cats, etc.)
  • No bikes
  • No running
  • No water fights
  • No drugs or alcohol
