Seattle Parks and Recreation is a great place to work. We have opportunities for a wide variety of skills, trades, and professional interests in our department. Come join our team!

Seattle Parks and Recreation Jobs

Employment opportunities with our department are posted on the City of Seattle employment website

The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), an independent, not-for-profit corporation and partner to Seattle Parks and Recreation, hires or contracts with many of the people who work at parks and facilities. To find out more about ARC positions or to apply, visit the ARC Jobs page

Aquatics & Lifeguard Jobs

Seattle Parks and Recreation is often recruiting for temporary lifeguards and permanent lifeguards. Check the City of Seattle jobs page. Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification is required, and candidates must be at least 16 years old to apply. For more information, please visit our Aquatics Employment & Training page.

Youth and Teen Employment

Seattle Parks and Recreation and other City agencies provide several different job programs and job types for teens, most in the summer. Some pay by the hour; for others, teens work for a stipend and/or service hours. Whether they're indoor or outdoor jobs, getting ready to go to work is an important step in your development into an adult. So whether you want to become a lifeguard or do physical work on trails and other park sites, give this page a look. See our opportunities on our Teen Jobs page.

Other Opportunities

If you are a contractor our business, we have opportunities we open for Requests for Proposals (RFPs). See our Current Opportunities page for information about our process and how to become a business partner.
