The Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) is seeking applications from housing service providers for DEEL’s Homeless and Housing Support Services Request for Investment (RFI).  Funded by the 2018 Families, Education, Preschool and Promise (FEPP) Levy, this RFI will invest up to $592,290 to increase access to emergency assistance and housing services for Seattle K-12 youth and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability during the 2022-2023 school year. 

*Grant Process Update:  

On May 17, DEEL amended the RFI application to state the maximum funding amount per awardee is $296,145. Updates are outlined in the RFI application.  

Who can apply, and for how much money: 

Organizations providing housing stability services to families with school-age children in Seattle are encouraged to apply for this grant. DEEL will award up to $296,145 per awardee. 

Types of services that can be funded: 

DEEL’s Homelessness and Housing Support RFI will provide resources to support Seattle Public Schools students and families in obtaining and maintaining stable housing in the following areas:  

  • Emergency Assistance Funding
  • Referral or Connection to Housing Support Services
  • Client-Centered Housing Case Management

How applicants will be selected: 

Funding will be awarded through a competitive process managed by DEEL. Applications will be evaluated using specific criteria outlined in the application and a review panel will make recommendations.

Timeline: 

Applicants must submit a complete grant application by email no later than Monday May 23 at 3:00 pm. DEEL will notify successful applicants by Friday, July 22, 2022.
