Programs for 3 and 4 year olds
For 3 and 4 year olds, the following three programs are available for your child, with possible income qualifications:
- Child Care Assistance Program - The City of Seattle helps income eligible working families pay for child care for children ages one month to 13 years. Families can choose from more than 100 licensed family child care homes and centers in Seattle, which contract with the City to provide high-quality and affordable child care.
- Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program - This program offers part-day and full-day, high-quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate preschool services for income eligible 3- and 4-year-olds and their families.
- Seattle Preschool Program - SPP offers high-quality, affordable preschool to all children across the City of Seattle. Tuition is offered on a sliding scale calculated by household size and income. Most families qualify for free tuition, with some level of subsidy for all families. Providers offer research-based teaching practices in their classrooms, including Creative Curriculum or HighScope Curriculum.
- Pathway to Seattle Preschool Program - Pathway provides high-quality, full- and half-day preschool programs for 3- and 4-year-olds in Seattle. Tuition is offered on a sliding scale calculated by household size and income. Most families qualify for free tuition, with some level of subsidy for all families.
