2013 Climate Action Plan Progress Report Released

The Progress Report finds Seattle completed or made significant progress on more than half (88 of 148) of the actions in the 2013 Plan, while also advancing projects outside the plan. These efforts contributed to a 5.7% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 2014 to 2022.

About the One Seattle Climate Action Plan

On Earth Day 2025, Mayor Harrell issued an Executive Order directing City departments to develop a modernized One Seattle Climate Action Plan focused on climate resilience and adaptation, building a green economy, and protecting public health, as well as near-term actions to reduce transportation emissions.

Timeline and Next Steps for the One Seattle Climate Action Plan

City Departments will be conducting inclusive engagement and outreach with most impacted communities, developing an advisory panel, and collaborating with Tribal governments, private sector, and others. 

By Q3 2025, the City will release an audit of the 2013 Climate Action Plan. The new Climate Action Plan is scheduled to be released by Q3 in 2026.
