Business Solutions
The Business Solutions Division specializes in solving business challenges and delivering cutting-edge technology solutions is our expertise. This year, we’ll focus on portfolio rationalization, managing technical debt, and aligning technology roadmaps to client needs. By leveraging digital tools and automation, enhancing systems, and providing training opportunities, we’re committed to supporting City operations with scalable, modern, and supportable technology—today and into the future. The Business Solutions Division is led by Ashley Cooper.

Data Enablement
The Data Enablement Division is here to unlock the power of data for the City of Seattle. By bringing together award-winning teams like Data Engineering, Open Data, GIS, and Database Services, this division aims to modernize data environments, improve data quality, and expand community access. With a focus on transparency and smarter decision-making, this unified team will be a key driver of Mayor Harrell's One Seattle Data Strategy. Data Enablement is led by Harvey Arnone.

Public Safety Technologies
The Public Safety Technologies Division centralizes and coordinates technology efforts across police, fire, emergency management, and CARE departments. By enhancing situational awareness, improving response times, and introducing innovative tools like AI, this division ensures a strategic and impactful approach to public safety for Seattle. Public Safety Technologies is led by Tracye Cantrell.

Strategic Support
The Strategic Support Division is here to empower Seattle IT’s workforce. With a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, we aim to propel our people and deliver innovative solutions that maximize value for staff and clients. This division integrates key functions like Human Resources, Workforce Equity, Talent & Growth Development, and more, providing strategic guidance and comprehensive support. Together, we’ll harness data, drive impactful change, and create a culture of collaboration and innovation to meet the City’s evolving needs. Strategic Support is led by William Smith.

Advanced Digital Services
The Advanced Digital Services Division is here to transform how our city tackles complex challenges. Through data, design thinking, and human-centered approaches, this dedicated team will break down silos, co-develop innovative solutions, and pilot new processes and technologies. By emphasizing empathy, collaboration, and continuous learning, the division aims to enhance city operations while fostering a more connected and responsive Seattle. This isn’t just about solving today’s problems—it’s about shaping a smarter, bolder future for our community. Advanced Digital Services is led by Jim Loter.

Technology Support
The Technology Support Division is at the heart of ensuring the City of Seattle's technological reliability, security, and user satisfaction. By merging the efforts of the IT Service Desk, Device Support, and Asset Lifecycle Management teams, the division will deliver seamless, end-to-end support to nearly 14,000 City employees across 42 departments. From resolving technical issues and managing 18,000+ devices to providing tailored consultation and overseeing asset lifecycle management, this team ensures productivity and alignment with the City's strategic missions. Led by a seasoned professional with over 26 years of experience in City technology support, this division is poised to empower users and optimize the City’s tech landscape. Technology Support is led by Elaine Bautista.

Privacy & Engagement
The Privacy & Engagement Division is leading the charge in balancing innovation and compliance. From managing the Privacy and Responsible AI Programs to introducing groundbreaking technology pilots, this team is driving accountability, transparency, and collaboration across the City. With the addition of the Digital Equity team, they’re committed to partnering with departments and the public to ensure data compliance while boosting trust and transparency. Privacy & Engagement is led by Ginger Armbruster.

Finance
The Finance Division drives financial excellence at Seattle IT by managing resources, enhancing financial tools, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Focused on transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility, the team supports strategic goals by maximizing resource utilization and enabling sound decision-making. From budgeting and procurement to analytics and reporting, the division provides comprehensive support to align financial practices with organizational objectives, fostering trust and delivering business value. Finance is led by Jan Tonning.

Portfolio, Product & Project Management
The Portfolio, Products, and Project Management Division is redefining project delivery. The new strategic plan focuses on proactive, lifecycle-driven project and product management to better meet stakeholder needs and deliver City priorities effectively. With a goal of on-time, in-scope, and budget-friendly delivery of over 80 projects, this division will ensure optimal results with improved clarity, estimation, and relationship management across departments. Portfolio, Products, and Project Management is led by Tracye Cantrell.

Security and Infrastructure
The Security and Infrastructure (SI) Division delivers the extensive infrastructure technologies behind the City’s digital capabilities, including servers, networks, databases, telephony, identity services, secure remote access, and cloud infrastructure, to name a few. Crucially, this division also includes the City’s cybersecurity, cyber risk, and emergency management programs, which help ensure the City’s data and other technology assets are safe and resilient. The Security and Infrastructure division is led by Director and Chief Information Security Officer Greg Smith.
