Sustainable, Equitably Sourced School Meals
OSE supports SPS Culinary Services with technical assistance and funding to expand school meals made with fresh, sustainable, and culturally relevant ingredients. This includes helping staff with values-based purchasing from local farmers, fisheries, and food businesses—especially those owned by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)—through supplier outreach and procurement process development. OSE also provides funding for ingredient purchases and staff capacity to advance values-based food purchasing.
