Use this calculator to estimate the monthly cost of your garbage and yard waste service. Calculated separately are rates for residential dumpster service and backyard pickup service. Additional information:
- You can change your cart size for either or both services (garbage, yard waste) for free once per 12 months. Additional changes are $31.45. Change container size.
- Recycling is free. Have more recycling? Add another cart or put extra recycling in a paper (not plastic) bag or a cardboard box next to your curbside cart, all for free at any time.
- Learn more about special (extra and bulky) collections, including extra garbage bags for $12.70 each, bulky items for $30 each, or yard waste bundles for $6.55 each. Contact Seattle Public Utilities to schedule any of these pick-ups.
- There is a maximum weight limit for each garbage or food and yard container. 12/13 gallons: 20 lbs, 20 gallons: 30 lbs, 32 gallons: 60 lbs, 64 gallons: 120 lbs, and 96 gallons: 180 lbs.
