Warehousing Services - Disposal of Surplus Property
Other than real estate, disposal of all surplus City-owned property and equipment—such as furniture, computers, industrial material and street signs—is handled through the City of Seattle's central warehouse. Whenever possible, the City offers this surplus property for sale.
The most common items, such as office furniture and computers, are available year-round and sold out of the City's central warehouse, located at 3807 Second Ave. S., Seattle.
In the case of unusual items—those that do not have established prices or are expensive—the City sends out invitations to bid and also lists the items on online auction sites, such as www.bidadoo.com and www.govdeals.com.
City Surplus Awareness Project
The City Surplus Program offers gently used computers, office equipment, and furniture at potentially discounted rates to qualified community members. Additional information can be found here.
Buyer beware
Buyers are urged and cautioned to thoroughly inspect all items being purchased. All items are sold "as-is, where-is" without any guarantee as to the accuracy of the description or as to present or future condition or performance. No warranty other than ownership is expressed or implied. All sales are final.
Payment options
Payment (only cash or check) must be made in full at the time of purchase. All checks should be made payable to the City of Seattle. Sales tax will be collected as well, unless the purchaser provides a valid Resale Certificate at the time of purchase.
