Jeremy Mohn

Jeremy has served as Council President Nelson’s Chief of Staff since 2022. In his previous work, he served as Director of Government Relations for the Evergreen State College and ran the office of former State Senate Majority Leader Sharon Nelson.
Jeremy has lived in Western Washington his whole life. After transferring with an AA from North Seattle Community College, Jeremy earned a BA in political science from Western Washington University and a Master of Public Administration from Evergreen. In Seattle, he has lived in Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, University District, Licton Springs, and currently lives in West Lake Union with his husband and two cats.
In Council President Nelson’s office, Jeremy is the team lead, communications lead, and manages film, music, nightlife, and labor contract policy issues. In 2022, he was critical in assisting with the creation of the Seattle Film Commission and in 2023 helped select its inaugural members. Prior to working at the Council, Jeremy’s proudest accomplishments were working on the WA State campaign to legalize marriage equality, getting elected as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention, and helping to pass landmark state legislation to expand access to higher education for low-income families.

Taemin Um

Taemin was born in Fort Lewis, grew up in Bellevue, Washington and graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2014. He managed and later consulted on local, state, and federal political campaigns. Taemin also worked for State Representative Vandana Slatter.
Taemin currently serves as a Board Member for the WA Chapter of the Korean American Coalition. He is a proud supporter of the Seattle Mariners and believes that this will finally be the year.

Erik Nielsen

Erik joins Council President Nelson’s Office from Boeing where he spent five years negotiating contracts with both parts suppliers and airline customers. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 2020 with concentrations in Information Systems and Operations and Supply Chain Management.
Erik is a lifelong Seattleite, growing up in Magnolia, and later living in the U-District, Green Lake, and Capitol Hill. He and his wife now call Upper Rainier Beach home where they live with their two guinea pigs. He’s an Eagle Scout from Troop 80, and an active member of St. Edward Parish in Columbia City. You can find him at every Husky Football home game and he avidly supports all of the Seattle sports teams.
