City real property finder

The City of Seattle owns properties used for various municipal purposes, such as fire and police stations, swimming pools, parks and offices. Each City-owned property is assigned to a "jurisdictional" department that manages the property. The Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle City Light, Department of Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Utilities and the Department of Finance and Administrative Services oversee most of the City-owned property.

The City Property Finder application is an online interactive mapping tool, which presents data on property the City owns or leases. You may search for a City-owned property by address, neighborhood, tax parcel number, PMA (property management area) or interactive map search.

Other departments

• Seattle Department of Transportation: SDOT's Street Use Division manages the City's right of way, including street use permits. Properties acquired for a major capital project are the responsibility of the Major Capital Projects Division and managed by Real Estate Services on SDOT's behalf.
• Seattle City Light owns property for the purpose of providing energy services to its customers. City Light may grant others the right to use its property. For more information visit the Property Usage page.
• Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation manages City-owned parks. To reserve or obtain a permit for use of Parks-owned property, visit Parks' reservations website.
• Seattle Public Utilities manages City-owned water and drainage property. Use of the property is subject to a permit being granted by SPU. Please contact SPU Real Estate Services for assistance.
• The Department of Construction and Inspections offers a variety of online mapping tools, including property and building activity, SDCI GIS, Seattle parcel data and side sewer cards and maps.
