on Outdoor Recreation.

2006.

will be completed in December/January time frame (weather permitting).

place in April to resurface the parking area.
Project Description
Budget:
$1,291,000
Funding provided by Parks Department Major Maintenance, and by a State
of Washington IAC grant to improve boat-on-trailer recreation.
Construction begins:
November and December, 2006
Project complete:
1/1/2007
The Atlantic City Boat Ramp, located in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood,
is scheduled to undergo pier repairs and slight remodeling in 2006.
The boat ramp can currently accommodate up to six boats at a time. After
construction, it will be to accomodate more.
Funding was provided by Washington State Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation (IAC), and matched by the City of Seattle. The project was
designed and permitted to comply with tight shoreline standards created
to protect fish. However, the bids received for the project in 2004 were
far above the budget available. The plan was re-worked and is now being
implemented by Hurlen Construction.
