The Swim Seattle initiative combines the efforts of Seattle Parks & Recreation, YMCA, No More Under, Associated Recreation Council, and other drowning prevention partners. The goal of Swim Seattle is to remove barriers to swimming opportunities, centering the communities who need it the most.

What is Swim Seattle?

Free Swim Lessons & Early Registration 

Free Teen Swims

  • Several pools offer a free weekly teen swim. 
  • Teen swims include open swim time, swim instruction, and pre-lifeguard training.
  • Please check with your local pool for schedule.

Community Trainings, Events and Partnerships

  • We host Water Safety Days, life jacket and swim gear giveaways, culturally inclusive workshops and trainings, awareness campaigns, and more.
  • Check out our Parkways blog and search “Swim Seattle” for upcoming events.
