Little Brook Park Redevelopment

Spring 2024

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our second public meeting on Friday, March 8 and provided input on play equipment options and street plaza design concepts through our survey which closed on April 12. A summary of the input we’ve received will be shared soon  

This project will complete the redevelopment of Little Brook Park beginning with the design developed by community members led by Lake City Collective. This project will begin with the design proposed for the redevelopment and includes an updated play area, picnic tables and seating, a creek boardwalk, a community garden, and a restroom. 

The entire park will be closed during construction.

Budget

The Seattle Park District provides $1,000,000 for planning, design and construction for this project. Additional funding is provided by:

  • $500,000 Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP)
  • $800,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)
  • $720,000 King County Park Levy

Note: this project is funded in part by grants, which are contingent upon a final executed grant contract and council appropriation of funding.

Design: Fall 2023 - Fall 2024
Construction: Spring 2025

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) has determined that the Little Brook Redevelopment Project does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This decision was made after a review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with SPR. This information is available to the public on request.

The Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) was issued on January 8, 2024, under 197-11-340(2). The lead agency, Seattle Parks and Recreation, will not act on this proposal for 14 days from the date of issuance (January 8, 2024).
