This project aims to make site improvements to the play area located within the western half of the former Home of Good Shepherd property. Most components of the play area were constructed in the early 1980s, and revised in 2002, and some equipment was replaced through a Neighborhood Matching Fund project in 2011. Several elements/features within the play area such as existing play equipment, art paving, play area ramps, custom-made v  slides, and rubber tiles need to be renovated or replaced.

$1,155,000 in funding is provided by the Real Estate Excise Tax (REET)

Schedule

Public engagement and design process:  Winter - Spring 2024
Design and Permitting: Summer/Fall 2024 - Winter 2025
Construction: Spring 2025 - Winter 2025/2026

Project Description

This play area project will replace the play equipment and make accessibility improvements to the route from the main parking area and the restroom in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
