Project Description

Seattle City Light will be replacing the electrical system that serves five streetlights along Canterbury Lane East. Crews will replace the streetlights with new poles and fixtures. The project also includes the installation of new underground conduits, wires, and fuse systems.

Location

Construction will occur on East McGilvra Street and Canterbury Lane East.

  • This work will improve the electrical reliability, safety, and lighting in this area.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Crews will replace the streetlights with new poles and LED fixtures.
  • Customers can expect parking, sidewalk, and traffic impacts within the work zone. Construction signage and traffic control flaggers will redirect pedestrians and vehicles where needed.
  • For the safety of our crews, City Light will need to conduct planned outages to perform the work. The utility will notify affected residents in advance of any planned work.
  • City Light will be performing this work under a noise variance permit. Customers can expect some noise due to heavy machinery, trucks, and other equipment.

  • Construction Start: Mid-to-late June 2022
  • Duration: 3-4 weeks
  • Daily Work Schedule:
    • Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    • Saturday: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
