Training and Exercise

To ensure that city staff are prepared to respond to incidents and hazards in Seattle, the Office of Emergency Management plays a central role in the coordination and delivery of emergency trainings and exercises. Similar to the role that Community Engagement plays in preparing Seattle residents for emergencies, OEM’s Training and Exercise Program is geared toward city departments who respond to incidents “in the field” and the city staff that deploy to Seattle’s Emergency Operations Center when it is activated.

Seattle OEM maintains a Training & Exercise Calendar that includes city-developed and delivered trainings alongside training opportunities from county, state, and federal emergency management partners. Trainings listed on the Training & Exercise Calendar are intended for emergency management professionals and agency partners. If you have questions about any of the trainings that you see here, or about Seattle OEM’s Training and Exercise Program, you can reach out to Training & Exercise Coordinator, Jordan Bright (Jordan.bright@seattle.gov).
