The effective date for the 2021 Seattle codes is no sooner than September 30, 2024. Until then, applicants may use either the 2018 or draft 2021 Seattle codes. Please visit the 2021 Seattle Code Adoption webpage for updates.

  From lighting and heating to building envelopes and retrofits, Seattle City Light offers financial incentives for energy saving products and practices. View up to date offerings and see if your project qualifies for funding at their Energy Solutions and Resources page. You can also find out more about new or upgraded service connections, solar power, or resources for your electric vehicles.
• American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE)
  See the Consumer Guide to Home Energy Savings, and other publications such as research reports and Summer Study Proceedings at ACEEE publications.
• California Energy Commission (CEC)
  The CEC ranks the most energy-efficient appliances available, regardless of brand, on its web site. The Appliances Database contains listings for all appliances currently certified to the California Energy Commission as meeting currently applicable efficiency standards.
• Washington State 2019 Appliance Efficiency Standards
  Many additional products and plumbing fixtures are now covered.
• Efficient Windows Collaborative (EWC)
  The EWC is a coalition of window, door, skylight, and component manufacturers, glass and other component manufacturers, trade associations, utilities, research organizations, government agencies, and others interested in expanding the market for high efficiency fenestration products. The website provides unbiased information on the benefits of energy-efficient windows, descriptions of how they work, and recommendations for proper use of efficient windows.
• Energy.Gov - Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
  Provides information on all the U.S. Department of Energy programs, research, and new technologies. Key pages for energy efficiency in design and construction includes buildings.
• Energy & Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA)
  A professional and trade group promoting energy efficient and affordable housing, including construction and design practices that help protect the environment.
• Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBL) Energy Technologies Area (ETA)
  Provides access to research on a wide range of energy technologies.
• Lighting Design Lab
  The Lighting Design Lab is a free utility-funded resource for commercial and residential building designers, and specifiers of lighting equipment in the Northwest, to explore energy efficiency and to implement state-of-the-art lighting design through demonstrations, simulations, research, and education.
• National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
  Provides information on the energy-efficiency rating, certification, and labeling for glazing products that is required by the Seattle Energy Code. Produces the NFRC Certified Products Directory (CPD) which lists the U-factors for literally millions of products as well as Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) and Visible Transmittance (VT).
• PECI
  A nonprofit organization that provides information related to commissioning and the operation and maintenance of commercial buildings including overviews and case studies, as well as procedural guidelines, specifications, and functional tests.
